What Correction Actually Is
Paint correction is machine polishing with intent: leveling the clear coat in controlled stages until swirls, wash marring, light scratches, oxidation, and water etching are gone — not hidden under filler glazes, gone. The mirror finish you see on our black Mustang isn't a coating trick; it's corrected paint reflecting light the way flat paint does.
Every job starts with inspection lighting and a paint-depth gauge, because good correction is as much about knowing when to stop as how to cut. It's also why the process begins with proper washing and decontamination — you can't polish paint you can't see.

What does paint correction actually remove?
Swirl marks from bad washing, light scratches that haven't broken through the clear coat, oxidation and dullness, water-spot etching, and buffer trails from previous detailing. Deep scratches that catch a fingernail are usually beyond polishing and need touch-up or paint work.
How many stages of correction does my car need?
A one-stage polish handles light swirls and restores gloss on well-kept paint. Two-stage (compound then polish) tackles moderate swirls and scratches. Multi-stage is for neglected or heavily defected paint. We assess under proper lighting and quote the stage your paint actually needs - not the biggest package.
Is paint correction safe? How much clear coat does it remove?
Done properly, correction removes microns - a tiny fraction of the clear coat - measured with a paint-depth gauge before we start. That's exactly why over-polishing a car repeatedly is bad practice, and why correcting once and protecting the result is the smart sequence.
Should I get ceramic coating after correction?
That's the ideal sequence. Correction gets the paint flawless; a coating locks that finish in and makes it easier to keep. Coating over uncorrected paint just seals the swirls under glass - which is why we treat correction as step one of ceramic prep.
